Somebody builds something genuinely useful in a weekend — a tool, a game, a plugin, an MCP server — and then it disappears, because there was nowhere obvious to put it. vybecoded is that somewhere.

vybecoded /ˈvaɪbˌkəʊdɪd/ — built fast, shipped solo, made with whatever got it done.

What does “vybecoded” mean?

Vibe coding is building software by describing what you want rather than writing every line of it — you prompt, you steer, you ship. The term was coined by Andrej Karpathy in early 2025 and stuck, because it named something a lot of people had already started doing.

A thing that got built that way is vibe coded. We spell it vybecoded, with a Y, for two reasons. The first is boring: vybecoded.io was available. The second matters more.

“Vibe coded” is drifting towards meaning AI wrote it, and a directory built on that definition ages badly — within a year or two nearly everything will involve AI somewhere, and the label stops telling you anything. Worse, it would shut out good software that happened to be written by hand.

So vybecoded is about how something got made, not what made it: fast, usually solo, with whatever got it done. A weekend project prompted into existence qualifies. So does one typed out by hand at 2am. Both got shipped, which is the only entry requirement here.

How it works

Makers submit what they’ve built. Every submission is reviewed by a person before it goes live — usually within a day. Once live, a listing collects votes, saves and comments from people who actually tried it.

What the rankings mean

Trending is votes weighted by recency, nothing else. Makers can pay to be boosted, featured or sponsored — and when they do, the listing is always visibly labelled. We never pass paid placement off as an organic ranking; a directory is only useful while you can trust its ordering.

Who runs this

vybecoded is independently run. It pays for itself through clearly labelled promotions, ad placements and the weekly digest — not by selling user data.
